I'm going nowhere - Sono

Johannesburg - Jomo Cosmos head coach Jomo Sono says he is going nowhere, and intends to remain an integral part of South African football.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, responding to critics who have called for the South African legend to step down as Jomo Cosmos head coach, 'Mjomana' declared he is going nowhere, and that he will always be here!

“One thing people should know about me is that I’m not answerable to critics. It’s part of life that some people will like and others will not. There are people who will be jealous of your success in whatever capacity you function in within football,” said Jomo.

“I have been in football since I was 15-years-old, and even then people have tried to topple me, but I’m still here today.”

Jomo also commented that he intends on leading his club and devoting his time to ensure that Ezenkosi fight on to reclaim their position back in the top flight.

“There are people who want me to step down but who is better? In South African football we see a merry go round situation of coaches. One minute this coach is here the next he’s fired! I would rather do something myself and know that I’m the one who is accountable,” concluded Sono.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
