Johannesburg - Banyana Banyana will take on neighbours Botswana in an international friendly match on Saturday at Vaal University in Vanderbijlpark
"Our goal is to become a force to be reckoned with in international women's football," coach Vera Pauw said in a statement on Monday.
"Playing against Botswana provides another opportunity for us to sharpen our skills and get closer to our goal of finishing in the top three in the African Women's Championships later this year.
"This clash against Botswana is one of those that will assist in getting the team in good condition for the AWC."
The match comes after the withdrawal of Comoros from the 2014 African Women's Championship qualifiers. The South African women defeated Comoros 13-0 in the first leg and the second leg was scheduled for this weekend.
Pauw has retained the bulk of the players who featured in the Comoros game, but has also invited strikers Kgadi Mokoma and Chantelle Esau to join the squad.
The 2014 African Women's Championship will be held in Namibia from October 11-25.
The tournament is also been used as qualification for the 2015 Fifa Women's World Cup, with the top three sides qualifying for the finals in Canada.
