Johannesburg - Four people, including a well known soccer star and a musician, were arrested in Johannesburg after a high speed chase, Gauteng police said on Saturday.
The names of two celebrities could not be released until they appear in court, police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou said.
Tracking company Netstar had traced a signal for a stolen car and then chased it on the N12 highway in Benoni on Friday night.
A short while later, the car was stopped by Flying Squad members.
After confirming that it was the stolen car, police arrested the four occupants, aged between 27 and 34.
The soccer star, a former Kaizer Chiefs player who is now with Platinum Stars, was a passenger in the car along with the musician.
The four will appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate's Court on Monday facing a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle.
