Soccer City case postponed

Johannesburg - The case between FNB and National Stadiums over what the name of Soccer City will be was postponed in the High Court in Johannesburg on Thursday.

FNB is attempting to prevent National Stadiums who are managing Soccer City from changing its name.

"The name of the stadium is FNB stadium and we are asking they refer to it as that," said FNB's counsel.

National Stadiums and the City of Johannesburg are arguing that while the stadium must have signage that refers to it as FNB stadium, any further use of the name in such things as promotions, amounted to free advertisement.

The case was postponed until next week.
