Shabba: All is well at Chiefs

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs winger Siphiwe Tshabalala insists the club are well poised to retain their Telkom Knockout crown.

Amakhosi, who have won the event twice in successive years, start their defence against Platinum Stars in Rustenburg on Sunday.

Chiefs' preparations have been hampered by reports of a fall-out between club captain Jimmy Tau and coach Vladimir Vermezovic with the former a surprise absentee in the recent 2-0 league victory over Black Leopards.

Tshabalala, however, maintains all is well at Naturena.

"To be honest, I don't know anything about that (rumours). I'm not sure where these rumours come from," he said at a press conference reported on by the PSL's official website.

"What I know is that the players and the management have one goal in mind and that is to deliver silverware to the club. That is what keeps us united as a club because we are all ambitious.

"As far as I know, everything is ok in our camp. We are a united front."

Looking ahead to the Dikwena test, the Bafana Bafana man expects a tight contest at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

He said: "Platinum Stars are a good side and they have some good players and we respect them a lot. I know that they had some good results this past week so they will be confident coming to this game.

"I think the key for us is to stick to our game plan and prepare well for this encounter."
