Cape Town - Thulani Serero scored a goal and played the full 90 minutes for Ajax Amsterdam as they defeated PEC Zwolle in a Dutch Eredivisie clash over the weekend.
Serero, 23, was left out of Bafana Bafana's clash against Botswana last weekend after claiming he felt stiffness in an old groin injury, but according to the SowetanLIVE website, he trained all week with Ajax and was fit enough to play the full 90 minutes on Saturday.
He also scored the opening goal as Ajax beat PEC 2-1.
Ajax early last week revealed Serero had a slight abdominal muscle tear, but no problem with his groin. The midfielder is likely to feature for Ajax when they open their Champions League campaign against Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Wednesday.
Another South African, Kamohelo Mokotjo, also featured for PEC, who remain top of the Dutch standings despite the defeat.
