Johannesburg - The South African Football Association will enter talks with the national broadcaster later this month to discuss broadcasting rights for future Bafana Bafana matches.

The current deal between expires next year and according to SAFA president Kirsten Nematandani, the South African Broadcasting Corporation will have to significantly increase their outlay if they have any hopes of securing a new deal.

SAFA will also reportedly cease to pay the SABC's production costs for national team games and expect to receive and increase on the current R500 000 that the SABC pays for Bafana matches.

Nematandani told the Daily Dispatch: "Broadcast rights are very important to a growing organisation like ours. Our relationship with the SABC is very important in particular when you consider that football is a matter of national interest. But the problem is that the current broadcast deal is not beneficial to our organisation. We want a fair deal when we renegotiate a new contract.

"Our highest revenue must come from broadcasting. We are definitely going to look at these issues when we renegotiate with the SABC and we need a fair deal."
