The 25-year-old former SuperSport United captain joined Spurs in 2011 but was sent out on loan to Preston North End and then Reading, with boss Harry Redknapp admitting the centre-back needed to gain some lower level first-team experience.
He struggled with injury and illness this campaign but is hopeful of establishing himself in England next season.
His agent, Glyn Binkin, told the Sowetan: "Nothing has been decided as yet, we are still looking at a number of options for Bongani, but it is likely he will go on loan again.
"He has been really patient and he is still very positive. Last season he was unlucky. Just as he came back to fitness he would get injured again, but then towards the end of the season he has been in the Tottenham match-day squad on a number of occasions, so he has been very close to getting some game time.
"We are open to looking at all options, but we obviously want to make sure he goes to the right club and also does so in good time so that he can have a full pre-season with them, which is very important."
