Cape Town – Three South African referees have been selected by SAFA to attend an eight-day elite referees course in Cairo this week.
Daniel Bennett, Zakhele Siwela and Andrew Rezeers have been invited to attend professional referee’s which started on Sunday (13 November) and will carry on until November 20.
According to SAFA’s website, “the South African trio have been invited to the high level referee’s course in an aim to refresh the referee’s knowledge in the field of officiating. The workshop content will also include the introduction of other new developments in the physical and practical needs of officiating.”
The referees attending the workshop could face selection to officiate in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) tournament to be hosted jointly by Equatorial Guinea in January next year.
