Rome - AS Roma have been fined 8 000 euros for racist taunts their fans directed at Inter Milan's teenage striker Mario Balotelli at the San Siro on Sunday.
"On two occasions in the second half Roma supporters sang chants featuring expressions of racial discrimination towards a player of the opposite team," the Italian soccer league said in a statement on their website on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old scored twice in the second half to help Serie A leaders Inter come from 2-0 and 3-1 down to earn a 3-3 draw.
Roma coach Luciano Spalletti and midfielder Daniele De Rossi accused Balotelli of diving to win the penalty he converted for his second goal.
Spalletti has been given a one-match touchline ban for using "insulting, provocative expressions" when complaining about how the match was refereed to the fourth official after the final whistle, the league statement said.
