Manchester - Manchester City manager Mark Hughes confirmed on Tuesday the club will fine Robinho for leaving last week's training camp in Tenerife without permission.

Robinho, who has scored 12 league and cup goals for City this season, said he had personal matters to deal with in Brazil but club officials said he had not gained their approval. The Brazilian returned to training on Monday and is expected to face Newcastle on Wednesday.

"I've had a talk with Robinho," Hughes said. "I have told Robby about the situation and our intention is to fine him. But there is a disciplinary procedure that has to be gone through and that is what we are doing at the moment. But what I would like to say is that he will be treated no differently to any other member of the squad."

Hughes did not disclose the amount of the fine. Reports suggest it will be around 200,000 pounds.
