Pirates set for Santos clash

Johannesburg - League champions and title holders Orlando Pirates were drawn again Santos in the MTN8 Cup quarter-finals on Monday.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) confirmed at the draw in Roodepoort that the format would remain unchanged for the annual competition, which was set to start on July 29.

The league champions would face the team that finished eighth on the log, while second would play seventh, third would play sixth and fourth would play fifth.

As such, Ajax Cape Town were drawn against SuperSport United, Kaizer Chiefs were set to face Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns were drawn to play Bloemfontein Celtic.

The winner-takes-all concept would remain, with the cup champions taking home R8 million, although all other teams would receive R800 000 after elimination.

The PSL said the venues for the quarter-finals would be drawn at a later stage.

The MTN8 tournament dates are:

•    5, 6 and 7 August (Quarter-finals)
•    20 and 21 August (Semi-finals 1st leg)
•    27 and 28 August (Semi-finals 2nd leg)
•    10 September (Final)
