Peace lovers through in Cup

2009-03-12 07:51

Limpompo -  Limpopo’s Peace Lovers FC ensured their inclusion in the Last 16 of the Nedbank Cup when they beat Real Madrid 1-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday night.

The goal was scored in the second half by Lawrence Machete.

The game was a fairly even one during the first half with both sides having a few slight chances but in the second Peace Lovers were the better side dominating possession and having the better chances.

The goal was scored in the 62nd minute when a shot from Lebohang Masuka was blocked by the keeper and fell kindly for Machete to score with a tap-in.

In the end Peace Lovers deserved the win and should have scored more goals had they taken their chances during the second half.
