Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Alberto Parreira is hoping his defence shapes up ahead of the international friendly with Zimbabwe on Wednesday night.
South Africa hit six goals in a practice match against Swaziland on Saturday, but conceded two sloppy efforts that worried the Brazilian.
"We lost possession too easily for those goals. That shouldn't happen at this level," said the World Cup winning mentor.
Parreira admitted that the substitutions he made against Swaziland, which effectively saw him field two different teams in either half, could have been to blame for the defensive frailties.
However, against the Warriors, there will be no such inconsistencies.
"We cannot use two different sides in that match, we can only use eleven plus six (subs)," added Parreira.
"If we make changes, it won't be more than two to the first eleven."
Despite the problems at the back, the coach was pleased to see the likes of Gert Schalkwyk and Franklyn Cale - both of whom bagged a brace - come good in the national team colours.
"It is good for the national team when players come in and do well," he said.
