Parker hoping for Greece loan

Johannesburg - Bernard Parker has confirmed he is on his way to Greece where he hopes to finalise a loan deal with Super League club Panserraikos FC.

The Bafana Bafana striker was set to move to English Championship side Leicester City, but the transfer fell through after The Foxes signed Nigerian forward Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

Now Parker could be signing with Panserraikos FC. "Actually, you just caught me as I'm getting on the plane to Greece. I honestly don't know what's going on at this stage, but I know the Greek team is interested," Parker told Football365.co.za.

"What matters to me is I get game time wherever I go, but at the moment I don't think it is a done deal because Twente are talking to the Greek club.

"So nothing has been finalised right now but I'm on my way to Greece, so in a day or so I will know what's going to happen."

Panserraikos coach, a Serbian called Dragan Kokotovic, apparently knows Parker from his days at Red Star Belgrade.
