Zwane yet to resolve 'Downs future

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Siyanda Zwane, is still to resolve his future with the club despite the fact that his current contract at Chloorkop expires in June.

Zwane has struggled to break into coach Pitso Mosimane’s team in 2017 following the big money acquisition of Anele Ngcongca and the emergence of Thapelo Morena at right-back.

The 31-year-old was used regularly before, especially during the CAF Champions League triumph, but it appears his career with the Brazilians now hangs in the balance.

Soccer Laduma spoke to Zwane's agent, Mandla Mthembu, who confirmed that talks had been held between all parties yet nothing had been agreed.

Mthembu said, "Yes, Siyanda’s contract with Sundowns is coming to an end in June, as things stand. We recently met with them about that and we are now waiting on them to find the way forward."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
