Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns winger Themba Zwane says consistency is what they need in their five games in hand to remain in contention for league honours.
The 27-year-old scored the opener when the Brazilians clinched a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Tuesday.
Currently sitting fourth in the Premiership standings with 29 points from 13 matches, Pitso Mosimane's side are four points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
"Yes, mathematically we stand a chance to catch up with the current log leaders and even top them if we can win all our five games in hand," Zwane told Vodacom Soccer.
"But, as you know, games in hand are not the guaranteed points until you have put them in the bag.
"So, consistency is a name of our game at this stage, and we are taking each game at a time without putting us under pressure, and we are gradually closing the gap between us and the current log leaders."
Sundowns take on title hopefuls Bidvest Wits in a crucial Premiership encounter on Saturday evening at Loftus Versfeld.
"We expect a very tough game against Wits, and we know that we will be taking on the league contenders. But, we are ready for the battle," added Zwane, who has scored six goals in 13 appearances across all competitions this season.
