Zungu bids farewell to Sundowns fans

Cape Town - Outgoing Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu has bid farewell and wished the club all the best going forward, ahead of his move to Vitoria de Guimaraes next month.

The 23-year-old signed a pre-contract with the Portuguese outfit in the January transfer window, and is set to join the rest of the squad for pre-season training in the next few weeks.

Speaking to reporters during the Brazilians' league trophy parade in Tshwane on Wednesday, Zungu insists he will forever carry the club and their supporters in his heart.

"I'm very emotional seeing all these fans because they have been with us from the word go," Zungu said.

"They will always be in my heart; my blood will always remain yellow and I will come back to the team one day.

"Ever since I've been with this team it has been wonderful and the fans are very supportive and I'm just emotional. This is wonderful because wining trophies is the only way to win their hearts.

"Good luck to the team in the CAF Champions League; I know they will make it. If they can make it through the group stages then they will win the cup."
