Cape Town - New
Mamelodi Sundowns signing Siyabonga Zulu says he is relishing the
challenge of playing for the club especially in the CAF Champions
League.
The hard-running left-back made the switch from Platinum Stars to Chloorkop last week and has penned a three-year deal with the Pitso Mosimane-coached club.
As such, the player expressed excitement about the move to Sundowns and said he will give his all to produce his best form on the pitch.
Speaking to the Sowetan, he said, "It is really a dream move for me, especially because I have always wanted to compete against the big teams on the continent that we see on television.
"Part of the motivation for coming to Sundowns was improving myself as a player and taking my game to the next level. I knew that they liked me but I could not predict when the transfer would happen. Last year there were talks but in the end the transfer did not materialise.
"I just had to continue working hard and improving my game and at Stars I was able to do that. Zulu is looking forward to fighting for a spot in the starting line-up. At Sundowns you don't just walk into the team so I am going to fight hard for my place."
Masandawana next welcome Zulu's former side Platinum Stars to Loftus Versveld in an Absa Premiership clash on Saturday with the left-back hopeful to feature against his former side.
Kick-off is at 18:00.
