Yeye to retire at Chiefs?

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung says that the club is in negotiations to extend Reneilwe Letsholonyane’s contract.

According to the official Kaizer Chiefs website, the 33-year-old is in the process of rehabilitation as he started feeling pain in his knee ahead of the CAF Champions League match against Volcan Club de Moroni in the Comoros.

Letsholonyane is on his way back to full fitness according to the club’s medical team.

“We are taking it step-by-step to ensure that he recovers completely. The duration of this rehabilitation process differs from one player to another.

“The injury and the extent of it also have an impact on the time that a player is out. It’s important that a player has fully recovered before playing again in a competitive match.”

Meanwhile, the veteran midfielder is currently talking with the Amakhosi about a contract extension with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.

If Yeye is given a fresh deal it is likely that the midfielder will end his career at the club if he decides to do so with him being on the wrong side of 30.

“We are in negotiations with Yeye,” reveals Motaung amidst media speculations.

“We will make announcements on all player movements in due course.”
