Pretoria - Reneilwe Letsholonyane said SuperSport United lost to Platinum Stars due to their failure to convert the chances they created despite dominating possessions for most parts of the game.
The star studded Matsatsantsa suffered a 1-0 defeat to Dikwena in their opening Absa Premiership encounter played at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium thanks to a well taken header by Robert Ng'ambi after the interval.
The former Kaizer Chiefs Ace believes that the North West Tycoons caught them off-guard to register the only goal of the match but also hinted that the Pretoria giants' morale was not dented.
'Yeye' also insisted that United must work on their goal scoring woes going forward if they want to fulfil their ambitions of lifting the Absa premiership title at the end of the current campaign.
"Overall we played very well as a team and we have created a lot of chances especially in the first-half," said Letsholonyane.
"Obviously we failed to convert those chances and they caught us at a critical phase and we lost 1-0 at the end of the day.
"But once we start scoring goals and collecting points hopefully we’ll be on top of the log when the season ends.
"Because our ambition is to win the league at the end of the season, but we must first score goals."
