Xulu leaves future in hands of Komphela

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyanda Xulu admitted he has no idea about how his future at the club will go after being dropped to the reserve team by Steve Komphela.

After his big money move from FC Rostov last season, Xulu has failed to live up to the hype after making only five appearances for Chiefs.

The 24-year-old has been playing with the reserve side in the Multichoice Diski Challenge this term and he revealed he is unsure if and when he will be given another chance with the first team.

"I can never assure you of anything because at the end of the day it is Steve's decision and the technical team," Xulu told KickOff.

"So I can do badly at training and good, at the end of the day it is their decision. I can never say when I will start to play. It would just be an empty promise."

After losing their two opening games of the season, Chiefs will host Platinum Stars at the FNB Stadium in the Premiership on Wednesday.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
