Wits youngster snapped up by Sporting Lisbon

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits and South Africa Under-20 international forward Liam Jordan has completed his move to Portugese giants Sporting Lisbon.

The 18-year-old joined Wits in 2014 from Auckland City's youth side, but was subsequently loaned to the Portugese outfit for the 2015/16 season.

According to Sporting's official website, the club have reached an agreement with Wits to secure Jordan's services for the following season with an option to make his deal permanent if he continues to impress.

"SAD announces that it has reached agreement with Bidvest Wits University Football Club for the temporary transfer of Liam Jordan during the sporting season 2016/17 with a purchase option," read the official statement.

"Sporting SAD want the highest professional and personal happiness of Liam Jordan."
