We've let ourselves down, says Hunt

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt admits that he is concerned by his team's three-match Premiership streak without victory, but insists they haven't become a bad team overnight.

The Clever Boys occupy third spot in the Premiership standings following an impressive start to the season, which saw them go undefeated for their first eight league games.

However, they have faltered recently as they slumped to defeat against SuperSport United and Cape Town City respectively.

Hunt lamented his team's inability to put their results beyond any doubt, which was evident in both the 2-2 draw against Highlands Park and the 3-2 loss to City.

"I will always be honest when we deserved to lose. We can't become a bad side overnight," Hunt told Sowetan Live.

"Cape Town City didn't deserve to beat us and Highlands Park was the same. SuperSport United certainly didn't deserve to beat us, but they did.

"We have let ourselves down in the last three games. You got to be brave and stand up to make sure we play well from there."

The former SuperSport mentor also confirmed injuries to central defenders Thulani Hlatswayo and Buhle Mkhwanazi.

"Buhle got his face kicked, so he won't play again this year and Tyson, I don't know. Maybe his finger is still sore," he added.
