Cape Town - Cape Town City FC goalkeeper Shu-aib Walters wants to face his former coach Muhsin Ertugal in the semi-final of the MTN8 Cup.
City brushed aside Kaizer Chiefs in the quarter-final held at Cape Town Stadium on Friday evening.
Matt Sim's lone goal in the early moments of first-half was enough to see-off the Soweto giants in front of thousands of Amakhosi supporters.
Walters sighted the irony in meeting Pirates would be City playing against their former coach while Tinkler faces a team he has been an assistant and a head coach in previous seasons.
"I've always wanted to play the best teams," said Walters in the post match press conference.
"So I am hoping to get coach Muhsin. I do think they are going to be a strong contender going forward in the competition.
"I do feel if we want to win it we have to beat the best teams and why not beat them in the semi-finals."
Meanwhile, Pirates will face Bidvest Wits in their quarter-final clash on Saturday, August 28. Kick-off is at 20:15.
The semi-final draw will take place on Sunday after the SuperSport and Mamelodi Sundowns fixture.
