Cape Town - Bidvest Wits midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi has urged the club's fans to continue supporting the team as the Clever Boys aim to claim their maiden Premiership title.

The university club are among the top title contenders in the league as the Absa Premiership race reaches its halfway point.

The table-topping Wits will be looking to extend their advantage against Mpumalanga Black Aces at the Bidvest Stadium on Friday.

"It is very important, all our fans play a huge part in the home games," Vilakazi told the club's official website.

"For a couple of seasons our fans have supported us to the end and that is something that is very important to each and every player.

"Having our fans as the 12th man gives the team a lot of motivation that we require to claim three points at every game.

"I would like to ask every single fan to continue their support, and the Clever Boys will try their best to not disappoint the fans.

"Thank you for your support not only from me but the entire team."
