Venter in seventh heaven

Bethlehem - Free State Stars striker Danny Venter said he is enjoying his goal scoring run after registering his third league goal of the season against the University of Pretoria.

Venter was on target for Eila Koto while Lennox Bacela grabbed a goal for AmaTuks when the two sides shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate at the Charles Mopeli Stadium on Sunday, December 13.

Venter believes that he is scoring goals recently as a result of staying behind after their training sessions to practice how to hit the target.

"Each and every day after training I remain behind just to practice how to score goals," revealed Venter

"I always practice how to hit the target from different angles on my own and how to score these kind of goals I’m scoring recently.

"But I’m doing so brilliantly in match days with the help of the coach and my team-mates of course.

"And I think that they are the reason why I’m contributing a lot to the team."

The Klerksdorp-born goal poacher will be looking to continue with his fine form in front of goal when they face Jomo Cosmos in their next league assignment on Saturday, December 19.

Kick-off is at 15:30.
