Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town head coach Muhsin Ertugral has confirmed the signing of Mamelodi Sundowns right-back Siyanda Zwane on loan.
Despite recently signing a new deal with the Brazilians, the 32-year-old has made just seven league starts in the previous two-and-a-half seasons. His most recent appearance came in the 3-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates on January 13.
It appears Zwane could be available for the Urban Warriors when they face Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.
Ertugral is reunited with the defender, who played for him at Golden Arrows during the 2011/12 season.
The Turk said: "This is a player that I have always loved. I always believed in him, I have a smile on my face when a player like that is here.
"He is the type of player that plays in the 60-metre zone in the channel, up and down. A great engine, hopefully he can fill in immediately there."
Meanwhile, Zwane's arrival signals the end of former Kaizer Chiefs star Siboniso Gaxa's hopes of landing a deal.
"We don't need two right wing-backs. The negotiations also took a little bit too long," the 58-year-old added.
