Urban Warriors promote academy trio

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town have promoted three more players from their development side to the senior squad, according to an official statement by the Ikamva-based outfit.

Grant Margeman, Mogamat May and Shane Saralin join Masilake Phohlongo, Darren Johnson, Luthando Matheza, as well as Sergio Kamies on the list of youngsters set to be under Roger de Sa's watch next season.

The tally of players promoted to the first team has now moved to seven, which is a club record, and Urban Warriors CEO Ari Efstathiou couldn't be happier for the teenagers.

"This is the largest number of academy players promoted to the PSL in one season in the club’s 17-year history," Efstathiou said in a statement.

"Most importantly all of the boys are exceptional individual talents and we expect them to make a huge impact in the PSL in the very near future.

"The club is extremely proud of the progress the kids have made in the last few months and wish them the best of luck with their young professional football careers."
