Tyson hails well-prepared Wits

Cape Town - Wits captain Thulani Hlatswayo feels his team had ample time to be thoroughly prepared for the MTN8 final after their 3-0 demolition of Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

Wits thrashed the Brazilians in a dominant display to capture their first piece of silverware under coach Gavin Hunt.

A match-winning brace from Daine Klate and a strike from Eleazar Rodgers ensured the win at the Mbombela Stadium.

Wits saw their midweek clash with Orlando Pirates postponed by the PSL prior to the final against Sundowns.

This worked in their favour as Sundowns, on the other hand, played a crucial semi-final match where they beat Zesco United to advance to the CAF Champions League final.

"We played well as a team. We knew what kind of team they are and we made sure we performed on the day," Hlatshwayo told KickOff.

"We had been doing that this whole week and fortunately the cancelled game against Pirates gave us a good opportunity to prepare well for the final."
