Twitter reacts to Jonevret's departure

Cape Town - After just over five months in the job, Orlando Pirates head coach Kjell Jonevret has resigned from the club.

Jonevret, who as late as last Saturday held onto hope he would keep his job, thanked the club after quitting.

"Unfortunately it didn't work out as planned. I wish the club and its supporters all the best for the future," Jonevret was quoted by the Pirates website.

The Swede was appointed in February to steady the ship after a rocky start to the season, which saw them concede six goals in each of their games against Tshwane clubs SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.

But, their struggles continued after that, and the Soweto giants ultimately finished a lowly 11th in the league, missing out on the MTN8 for the first time in the PSL era.
