Twala injury adds to Lebese blow

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have received bad news on the injury front after it was confirmed that William Twala will join George Lebese on the sidelines until the New Year.

Lebese has been out injured since the 0-0 draw with Bloemfontein Celtic on 14 December.

Twala, meanwhile, had just returned from an ankle injury and has now picked up a calf strain.

Both players will not be involved in the Glamour Boys' final match of 2016 against Golden Arrows on Wednesday. It's expected that the pair will return for the club's first fixture of 2017 against Free State Stars in February.

"Player Injuries: George Lebese is ruled out for six weeks with a stress fracture on his back. Speedy recovery. William Twala, who has recovered from his ankle injury has now picked up a calf strain. Speedy recovery," Chiefs' official Twitter account said.

Amakhosi are fourth on the Premiership table and trail leaders Cape Town City by four points.
