Cape Town - Eric Tinkler says Orlando Pirates are eager to make up for their failure to win the 2013 CAF Champions League when they host Etoile du Sahel in the first-leg of the Confederation Cup final on Saturday.
The Buccaneers made it to the final of Africa's premier club competition only to lose to Egyptian giants Al Ahly 3-1 on aggregate.
They are now gearing up to take on Tunisian outfit Etoile du Sahel over two-legs in the Confederation Cup final, with the first-leg taking place at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
And Tinkler says the squad has been working hard in training to make sure they go all the way this time around.
"The experience of 2013 has helped us and will be very important on Saturday. We lost the final and so the hunger to win is there," he said in his pre-match press conference.
"The senior players are going to be key for us because they will be able to share the insights to the newer, younger players.
"We've worked on a few things like penetrating teams and creating chances. We have seen it in the league as well, without scoring.
"We've been working the attack and defence quite intensely; tomorrow we'll tone down and focus on the set-pieces. We are getting closer."
