Cape Town - Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler has praised Thato Mokeke's versatility, in addition to revealing that their game against Bidvest Wits will be a "massive task".
Mokeke secured a deadline-day season-long loan move to the newly-formed club from SuperSport United, and Tinkler has stressed the importance of the move - in relation to Aubrey Modiba making the switch to Matsatsantsa.
"I'm very happy to have Mokeke with us," he told KickOff website. "His versatility is key - when he was playing for Ajax he was used as a centre-back, left-back and he played on the left side of midfield.
"So it's good to have such versatility, especially with Modiba that's gone to SuperSport. Mokeke needs to be patient as he'll definitely get his opportunity."
Gavin Hunt's side host City in the first-leg of their MTN 8 semi-final clash on Saturday night at the Bidvest Stadium, and Tinkler has revealed he will have a nostalgic feeling when coming up against his former team.
"I suppose there is always a bit of nostalgia when playing against your former club," he explained. "It's going to be a massive task as Wits has shown during the past four seasons that they are right up there.
"But I'm a competitor and don't shy away from a challenge. There will be no friendship on Saturday when we face them."
