Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler praised striker Lehlohonolo Majoro for his impact during the 3-1 win against Mpumalanga Black Aces.
The Buccaneers secured the victory after a brace from Tendai Ndoro and a gal from Thabo Rakhale at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.
Although Majoro did not get on the score sheet, Tinkler hailed his defensive contribution when the opposition had the ball.
"Tendai came in and got a brace, but we must not overlook the job Majoro put in before that," Tinkler told KickOff.
"Yes, he might not have had a shot on target, but you must judge his overall performance and I think defensively he did a lot of work for us.
"He did a lot of chasing and we put a lot of pressure on them to try and win the ball, and I'm very proud of the work he put in. That helped Tendai because when he came in very fresh, he found himself with a lot of space and it was a job done by Majoro.
"It was a very good result. A good performance - I don’t think it is the best performance we will ever produce - but I thought we were a lot more clinical in the final third and the players responded extremely well."
