Tinkler eyes top three finish

Cape Town - Following their dream maiden season in the top flight football, Cape Town City head coach Eric Tinkler insists that the Citizens intend to complete the current campaign on a high note as they seek a top three finish.

City have already banged a Telkom Knockout in the 2016/17 season and were also the contenders for a league title for the most part of the campaign.

To cement their place in the top three, the Mother City based side needs only a single win in their remaining two games.

City face Golden Arrows on Wednesday evening at 19:30 and on the final matchday (Sunday, May 27) they travel to Peter Mokaba Stadium to clash against Polokwane City.

"Yes exactly, that’s what we want as a team. We want to finish the season inside the top three,” Tinkler insisted.

"It will be vital for us to finish the current season on a high note.

"So to ensure this dream we must at least get three points from our remaining two games.

"We are going to try harder and achieve this goal we had since the start of the season.

"Our aim was to finish inside the top three and it’s still possible."
