Tinkler continues to urge Buccaneers

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler hailed an important three-point haul after steering his side to a 1-0 victory over Free State Stars on Saturday night.

Tendai Ndoro's eighth-minute goal proved the difference on the night as the Buccaneers moved to within two points of fifth-placed Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Tinkler had plenty of positives to take away from the performance, and urged his players to remain focused on finishing the campaign strongly.

"The game was a six pointer, we were level on points with Free State Stars on 32 and it was vitally important for us to collect three points," Tinkler was quoted as saying by KickOff.

"We've moved ahead of Chippa United now, into six. We've closed the gap on Mpumalanga Black Aces and also closed the gap slightly on Kaizer Chiefs.

"It's very tight and I reiterated to the players that it is important for us now to ensure that we climb that league table and collect as many points as possible to guarantee our position in the top eight."
