Cape Town - Cape Town City boss John Comitis has confirmed the club have extended the deal of veteran play-maker Teko Modise until the end of 2018/19.
Modise had a deal that ran until the end of 2017/18, however, he impressed for the Citizens in the last campaign, and has now been handed a new contract.
The 35-year-old made 17 Premiership appearances for the Mother City-based outfit and also contributed a single goal as well.
It is thought that the former Mamelodi Sundowns star has been rewarded for his quality and experience by being handed a further year with the Benni McCarthy-coached outfit.
As such, Comitis revealed his team have exercised the option on the player's contract, telling Soccer Laduma: "I can confirm that the future of Teko Modise is with Cape Town City.
"A few months ago, in fact, I renewed Teko’s contract, which had an option for one extra year and we didn’t hesitate or wait till the last minute."
Meanwhile, central defender Tshepo Gumede is expected to put pen to paper on an extension following Robyn Johannes' exit to join Bidvest Wits.
