Tau talks up bond with Pitso

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns winger Percy Tau has hailed the role of manager Pitso Mosimane in his rapid development into a regular member of the first team this season.

Tau, who looked set to be released from the Brazilians after failing to break into the starting XI in recent seasons, spent the latter half of last term on loan at National First Division outfit Witbank Spurs.

The loan deal in the second tier is said to have motivated academy graduate to give his all and behave more professionally in order to make it at Sundowns this season.

Tau has now taken his chances after impressing in the CAF Champions League and winning the Man of the Match award in their impressive 3-1 win over Tshwane rivals Supersport United on Sunday.

"We had to work hard for the result because we lost an important player in Castro," the 22-year-old said after the game.

"It is important to have a strong bench and thanks to the coach and the technical team in preparing for this game. We knew which side to attack and how to defend when we lose the ball. It was a collective victory and we are happy that we progressed to the semi-finals.

"I do a lot of talks with the coach. He is always behind everything I do. We are building a strong bond because he is starting to understand more of what I am trying to do, and also I am trying to understand his tactics and how to be in the structure of the team."
