Takwara could join Kapini at Highlands Park

Cape Town - FC Platinum midfielder Gerald Takwara is on trial at South African Premier Soccer League side Highlands Park.

Should he make the grade, Takwara will join his countryman Tapuwa Kapini at the club coached by former Bafana Bafana boss Gordon Igesund.

He will have a week to try and impress Igesund and the technical team at a Highlands Park side which is sitting in the relegation zone at the halfway point of the season.

"He started training with them (on Wednesday) and is supposed to be with them for a week," the player's manager, Gibson Mahachi, told NewsDay.

The recent signing by FC Platinum of Brett Amidu is seen as a possible replacement for Takwara.
