SuperSport without key men for Cup final

Cape Town - SuperSport United have confirmed that Thabo Mnyamane, Teboho Mokoena, Morgan Gould and Reneilwe Letsholonyane are out with injuries and suspension, ahead of Sunday's CAF Confederation Cup first leg final against TP Mazembe.

United reportedly jetted into Congo with a squad of just 17 players ahead of what will be no doubt a daunting challenge in Lubumbashi.

As such, coach Eric Tinkler admitted that the absence of the quartet was something of a blow. He told reporters, "On Thabo Mnyamane, the report we got this week was very positive. He should be back within a couple of weeks I would presume, but he won’t make the second leg of the CAF final. With Mokoena we’re hopeful that he has a chance of making it.

“You want what is your strongest team available. Morgan has been very important and influential for us, and has been performing exceptionally well in my opinion, and so has Yeye.

“They’ve been involved in practically all the games and missing them is obviously a loss. Mokoena too, he’s also been very good for us.”

Sunday's action gets underway from 15h30 on the artificial turf at the Stade TP Mazembe.
