SuperSport, Sundowns in talks over possible Booysen deal

Cape Town - SuperSport United are currently in negotiations with Mamelodi Sundowns for the permanent stay of Mario Booysen.

Matsatsantsa are eager to keep the versatile defender after a successful loan spell that started in January.

Booysen made 15 Premiership appearances as the Tshwane-club secured a top-eight finish and the Nedbank Cup title.

His agent, Miguel Paiva, confirmed that his client wants to remain, but the final decision ultimately lies with Sundowns.

"The clubs are talking. SuperSport are keen to retain his services outright and they are in discussions with Sundowns," Paiva told Goal website.

"If that comes into agreement then we will sit down with the club to discuss personal package.

"The player is happy to stay at SuperSport, the club is happy with him, Baxter is happy with him. We hope to find a conclusion as soon as possible, but for now he is still a Mamelodi Sundowns player."
