Cape Town - SuperSport United and Maritzburg United will both look to extend their unbeaten runs in the Absa Premiership when they meet at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

SuperSport recorded a fifth successive game without defeat when they overcame local rivals University of Pretoria 2-0 away on December 20.

The Tshwane side has claimed five points from six home matches this season.

Matsatsantsa are placed eighth on the Absa Premiership log with 16 points from 12 matches.

Maritzburg extended their unbeaten run to three matches with a 1-1 draw away to Platinum Stars on December 20.

The KwaZulu-Natal side has claimed four points from six away matches this season.

The Team of Choice is placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with six points from 12 matches.

In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Maritzburg have met in 18 league matches since 2005/06.

Matsatsantsa have nine wins compared to two for the Team of Choice, while seven matches have been drawn.

SuperSport have won five of their nine home matches against Maritzburg, suffering two defeats in the process.

Last season the Team of Choice won 4-1 away, while the return game in Pietermaritzburg was won 1-0 by Matsatsantsa.

Since a 7-0 win over Maritzburg in 2011/12, SuperSport have scored just four goals in seven league matches against the KwaZulu-Natal side.
