SuperSport end Wits' unbeaten record

Cape Town - Two second-half goals helped SuperSport United beat Bidvest Wits 2-0 in an Absa Premiership game at the Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday night.

As a result Matsatsantsa climbed up to second on the league standings, while the Clever Boys dropped down to third spot on the table.

Wits goalkeeper Darren Keet was called into action just four minutes into game as he gathered Reneilwe Letsholonyane's half volley from outside the box.

Two minutes before the half-hour mark SuperSport had a chance to score, but former Letsholonyane's chip was too high for Thabo Mnyamane.

Dove Wome had chances to hand SuperSport the lead just before the half-time break, by the Togo international could not covert them.

SuperSport head coach Stuart Baxter made a change at the beginning of the second introducing Michael Morton for Letsholonyane.

Clayton Daniels fired the home side into the lead in the 64th minute when the defender pounced from close range to make it 1-0 to SuperSport.

It was soon 2-0 to SuperSport as in-form striker Mnyamane scored a beautiful goal 

five minutes later - making it four goals in four competitive games in the process.

At the other end, goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse produced great saves in the dying minutes of the game and SuperSport won 2-0.
