SuperSport claim vital away goal in loss to TP Mazembe

Cape Town - SuperSport United may have lost the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup final away to TP Mazembe but claimed a vital away goal in the process.

As it happened: TP Mazembe v SuperSport United

The home side from Congo beat the South African visitors 2-1 after leading 1-0 at half-time.

After early pressure from SuperSport, TP Mazembe took the lead in the 18th minute with Traore finding the net with a long-range effort.

Early in the second half, Sipho Mbule drew SuperSport level with a brilliant effort after finding some space and getting his shot away.

TP Mazembe restored their lead in the 67th minute with Adjei scoring from a set piece.

And that's the way it stayed as TP Mazembe now travel to South Africa for the second-leg on Saturday, November 25 looking to defend their lead.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
