Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly in hot water over the termination of winger Mzikayise Mashaba's contract without the consent of the player or his representative.
According to Mashaba's agent Tim Sukazi, the player is still legally contracted the Brazilians until the end of the current Premiership season and the club will appear before the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) on Thursday.
"Mzi Mashaba is still under contract with Sundowns until June 30, 2018. No contract was terminated," he told IOL website. "The matter is now with PSL DRC.
"Sundowns and Mashaba will both appear before the DRC. The matter is sub judice and that's why I can't say much."
When Independent media contacted Masandawana spokesperson Thulani Thuswa for comments on the recent debacle he claimed the club was unaware of the DRC hearing.
"I'm not aware. It is the first time I've heard of that. Please get hold of Yogesh Singh (Sundowns Commercial and Legal Manager who is acting as the General Manager).
"He can give you more information on that."
