Sundowns' Tau admits overseas interest

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns' rising star Percy Tau has revealed his interest in securing a move overseas and believes the FIFA Club World Cup is a chance to showcase his talents.

The 22-year-old's stock has risen in recent times after some sparkling peformances for the Brazilians in attack. The player bagged a superb brace in the club's recent 4-1 win over Free State Stars in the Premiership, and is expected to have a big role to play in Japan.

Tau has scored six goals in all competitions and recently received high praise from coach Pitso Mosimane, who compared him favourably with Downs' standout attacking star Khama Billiat.

Nonetheless, the young forward, who has risen quickly to prominence after spending last season in the National First Division with Witbank Spurs, is interested in a move abroad.

He told the club's official website: "It has been a good year for me, I have achieved a lot of things and being in the World Cup is a huge platform for not only me, but for all of us as players.

"It's a great opportunity if you want to play for teams overseas, my main goal is to do well in the tournament. If we do well in the competition, it will be great. It's not an impossible task because we are doing what we love and we believe in ourselves."
