Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly snapped up young Zambian striker Lameck Banda before loaning him back to Zesco United.
The 17-year-old's future has been the subject of a lot of speculation, but according to his agent, Michael Ngobeni, Banda is already a Sundowns player, although it's uncertain when exactly he will join the Tshwane club.
"Lameck will be coming back [to Sundowns] when he is 18," Ngobeni told SoccerLaduma. "He is currently with Zesco United. He will be playing in the Champions League with Zesco.
"He is a Sundowns player. He will gain more experience from playing in the Champions League with Zesco."
Another possible reason for the delay in Banda's move could be that Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is facing complications with regard the foreign quota rule, especially with the imminent arrival of Uruguayan winger Gaston Sirino.
The teenaged Banda has already featured for the senior Zambian national team, having made a cameo appearance off the bench against Cameroon in a 2-2 World Cup qualifier last year.
