Sundowns looking to emulate Madrid in CAF comeback

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is confident his side can score the two goals they need in Wednesday night's CAF Champions League game against AS Vita.

The Pretoria side went down 1-0 in their second qualifying round, first-leg match away to AS Vita on 10 April, and now need to score at least twice (without conceding) at the Lucas Moripe Stadium if they are to be certain of going through to the next round.

The Kinshasa-based club, however, showed that they are a quality side in the first leg. They have some dangerous players up front, and will be harbouring their own ambitions, having made it to the final in 2014.

But with in-form forwards such as Leonardo Castro, Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly to call upon, not to mention the goal-scoring prowess of midfielder Hlompho Kekana, Mosimane is confident that his side has the firepower needed to advance.

"Look at the [UEFA] Champions League - Real Madrid were losing 2-0 [against Wolfsburg] from the first-leg and they [scored] three in the second-leg," Mosimane was quoted as saying by The Sowetan.

"We learn from that. With the way we press, we suffocate people until they give in. You must give in with a goal otherwise we don't stop coming," said the former Bafana Bafana coach.
