Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns are set to be without the services of defender Wayne Arendse and attacking midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi for the remainder of the season.
Vilakazi is still in recovery after suffering knee ligament damage in a Premiership fixture last month while Arendse recently went under the knife to fix ankle ligament damage, suffered in the CAF Champions League triumph over Kampala Capital City Authority in Uganda.
Both players will be out for at least two months, which rules them out for the remainder of the Premiership title race and the Nedbank Cup.
While the key duo for Sundowns will be sorely missed, the former Bafana Bafana head coach can welcome the return of CAF African Player of the Year and Uganda goalkeeper Dennis Onyango.
"He could have played against Chiefs but we decided there was no need to push him‚" Mosimane told reporters, when asked about the Uganda international's return from injury.
The Brazilians currently trail league leaders Cape Town City by eight points, albeit with four games in hand over Eric Tinkler's side.
Mosimane's charges will return to action on Wednesday evening as they play one of their four matches in hand. Their opponents for the evening will be Bloemfontein Celtic.
Kick off is at 19:30.
